Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to taskru, markru, and liferu (together, "the Ru series apps"; each, "the App"), developed by Kazunobu Tsujino, an independent developer. It describes the practices common to all three apps, followed by notes specific to each. All three apps reference this same policy.
Our approach
The Ru series apps are built to keep your data with you. The content you create stays on your device — and, for the apps that support it, in your own iCloud. The developer cannot read it. There is no advertising and no third-party tracking. The only data the developer receives is anonymous usage analytics, described below.
Data you create
Each App stores the content you create or import — such as tasks, notes, and logs — on your device, and (where the App supports iCloud) in your own iCloud account tied to your Apple ID. The developer does not access, receive, or store this content on any server.
Analytics
The apps use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how features are used and to improve quality. TelemetryDeck does not collect personally identifiable information, device identifiers, or IP addresses, and signals are anonymized. Collected signals are limited to things such as screen views, feature-usage counts, anonymized count ranges, and error categories. Your content — task titles, note text, log entries, tags, file names, and the like — is never sent. For details, see TelemetryDeck's privacy policy.
On-device AI (Apple Intelligence)
Where your device supports it (iOS 26 and later), the apps use Apple Intelligence (the Foundation Models framework) on your device for features such as summaries, tag suggestions, Markdown formatting, and diary generation. This processing happens entirely on your device; your content is not sent to the developer or to any third-party AI server. AI-generated output may be inaccurate, so please review important content yourself.
Apple platform services
The apps use Apple platform features such as iCloud, the App Store, widgets, App Intents, and Siri. Your use of those services is also governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.
Advertising and tracking
The apps contain no advertising, no tracking SDKs, and no social-media integrations. No data is collected or shared for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Your controls
- View, edit, and delete your content from within each App.
- Export your data using each App's export feature.
- Delete an App to remove its local data from your device.
- Manage any iCloud data through your Apple ID and device settings.
Children
The apps are not directed at children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.

App-specific notes
taskru
taskru stores the tasks you create — titles, notes, tags, due dates, status, subtasks, and projects — on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, this data is also stored in your own iCloud (via CloudKit). With your permission, taskru can import incomplete items from Apple Reminders; imported items are stored locally, and taskru does not modify your Reminders. You can export your data, and AI summaries run on your device.
markru
markru stores your Markdown notes and related information — titles, tags, shelves, bound books, pages, reading progress, edit history, and any text or files you import or share into the App — on your device and in your own iCloud (an iCloud Drive container). A Share Extension lets you send text from other apps into markru. You can export notes (including as a ZIP archive), and AI tag, summary, and formatting features run on your device.
liferu
liferu stores your life-log entries, generated diaries, and presets on your device. liferu does not sync this content to iCloud — your logs stay local, and deleting the App removes them. With your permission, liferu can read:
- Health metrics from Apple Health (such as step count, sleep, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability), saved locally as part of your logs. liferu never writes to Apple Health and never shares health data with anyone.
- Today's calendar events (via EventKit), saved locally. liferu does not modify your calendar.
- Current weather (via WeatherKit). To fetch it, your current location is used momentarily and is not stored; only the resulting weather is saved to your log.
Diary generation runs on your device, and you can export your data.
